Our commitment

As a transport data and SaaS platform provider, we recognise our responsibility to lead by example in minimising our environmental impact and enabling greener, smarter mobility systems.

We commit to contributing to net zero emissions, reviewing decisions in order to reduce our carbon footprint, and partnering with cloud and infrastructure providers that are aligned with science-based targets and net zero ambitions.

Digital infrastructure & energy use
  • Host our services on cloud platforms that are committed to net zero.
  • Optimise data storage, processing, and transfer to reduce energy intensity.
  • Reduce unnecessary compute usage and improve software efficiency.
Remote work & office operations
  • Maintain a flexible remote-first or hybrid work environment to reduce commuting emissions.

Business travel & events
  • Prioritise virtual meetings and limit air travel.
  • Encourage use of public, shared, or active transport for staff and event attendees.
Sustainable procurement
  • Engage suppliers that share our environmental values and demonstrate climate responsibility.
  • Regularly assess and improve our supply chain sustainability.

Continuous improvement

How we keep improving

We treat our environmental commitments as a living programme, not a static policy. We will regularly review this policy and update it to reflect changes in regulations, technologies, and best practices.

GCP and net zero

Google Cloud matches 100% of its annual electricity consumption with renewable energy purchases — a standard it has maintained since 2017. Google has also committed to operating on 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030, meaning every hour of every day powered by clean energy in every region it operates.

Approval

Policy approval

This Environmental Policy has been approved by the Compass IoT leadership team and will be reviewed regularly to reflect changes in our operations, applicable regulations, and best practice.
