In this video, we'll walk through how to use the WKT files function.
00:04
Through Advanced View, you have the ability to upload or download the WKT files in the Area Selection panel. WKT files, or Well Known Text files, can be used in Road Intelligence to easily and quickly upload specific paths and polygons, so you don't have to manually draw them each time.
Currently, Compass Road Intelligence supports two types of WKT files - LineStrings and Polygons.

So let's walk through how you can export a WKT file through Road Intelligence. First, you need to select the path or area you want to export. Turn on Advanced View under the Profile Icon in the top right corner.
00:47
You'll see the Export As WKT button appear at the bottom of the Area Selection panel. Click this and we'll see a pop up say that the file has been copied to your clipboard. Now you can paste this anywhere or paste it somewhere to keep for later.

Now that you know how to export a WKT file, let's walk through how you import a file back into the platform. First, you'll need to turn on Advanced View under the Profile Icon in the top right. If it is not already on, you'll see a WKT button appear at the top right of the Area Selection panel.

Click on this and a pop up will appear where you can paste your WKT file. We recommend disabling road-matching. Then click Insert Feature and your WKT will appear on the map.
