Compass IOT Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Platform Access.

Compass IOT provides data interpretation services and indicative city planning data.

By using our service, you agree to the terms and conditions contained herein. You likewise agree to the Compass IOT Privacy Policy (the Privacy Policy) https://compassiot.com.au/privacy/. Both the terms and conditions and the Privacy Policy define and set out the terms of your legal relationship with Compass IOT. The provisions of the terms and conditions and/ or the privacy policy may be updated, amended or otherwise changed from time to time.

The agreement herein made is annexed to and informs the licensing agreement between Compass IOT and the User. The terms and conditions and/ or the privacy policy may be amended by the licensing agreement, either expressly or by implication, resulting from an inconsistency between the two.

Our service is diverse, and, on occasion, additional terms and conditions of use will apply to particular elements or aspects of our service. Any such terms as may arise in this manner will become part of your agreement with us.

Use of our Service

Your ongoing use of our service is contingent on your compliance with these terms, as set out within this agreement. The provision of our service to you may be suspended, limited or terminated for a failure to adhere to the terms herein.

Compass IOT offers a data license to use, access, and manipulate data extracted from Compass IOT Platforms or personnel. This license does not extend to third parties.

As a user, you agree not to share data extracts, raw formatted data as provided by Compass IOT personnel or platforms to any organization outside of the organization listed on the invoice agreement. This includes any consultants, government bodies or contractors even if it relates to internal business use cases.

If data sharing is required: A) Under legal obligation such as a warrant or B) For an internal business case

The licensee must as soon as practical notify Compass IOT. Written permission must be obtained before sharing data outputs unless there is a legal obligation to the contrary. The licensee accepts liability for damage caused to Compass IOT for externally sharing Compass Data to users without a license. The licensee is not to be held liable in situations where they were legally compelled to share data.

Data sharing is available between organizations that have a Compass IOT license and active seats. A list of active organisations is available upon request. Many consultants, government bodies, regulatory agencies, and community organisations all have licensee agreements with Compass IOT and are therefore able to transfer through Ciot files outputs between other licensee holders

This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

Compass IOT maintains all rights and intellectual property in relation to our datasets. The agreement is a license to use, access, and manipulate Compass IOT data for internal business processes. From time to time, clients may, and are encouraged to create new derivatives with Compass IOT Platform data as an input. To be classified as a derivative, the data output must be sufficiently different from Compass IOT’s core data output. That is, they must generate new data through the addition of other inputs and must not be Compass core outputs (Speed, volume, near hits, map matching, road condition and others). New derivatives are the property of the client, however, beyond the licensing period, Compass IOT does not provide support services for any data therein. Compass IOT accepts no liability for any derivative data a customer generates.

In connection with your use of the Services, we may send you service announcements, administrative messages, and other information. You may opt out of some of those communications.

Correctness of Information

Our services are designed to provide indicative planning data. The interface further relies on data sourced from the APIs of third-parties. The effectiveness and accuracy of such data, as displayed on the platform, generally assumes the correctness of the information provided by these third-parties. Compass IOT strives at all times to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients, however we are indemnified in disclosure that accuracy is not a guaranteed element of the service provided.

Privacy Policy

Compass’ Privacy Policy explains how we manage your information and how the information accessed through or created by our service is managed by Compass IOT and is to be treated by you.

Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

Information we collect

We collect third-party, public and private APIs and data from our own deployed devices to inform data displayed on our platform. In collection of this data, Compass IOT acknowledges that grouptrends, movements, and community information will be portrayed through the platform.

We use the subject data in order to inform our algorithms and provide better services to our clients.

Compass IOT maintains the right, at all times, to share gathered data for the purpose of, amongst other things, software development, research and product development, marketing, demonstrations, business development and expansion into new industries.
